Ruben's "Lights Down Low" Beef Potjie

Ingredients

  • 45 ml Bushveld Braai PERi-PERi Sauce
  • 1000 g Beef potjie meat
  • 1 ml salt
  • 1 ml pepper
  • 5 ml herbs (whatever you have or prefer)
  • 25 ml flour
  • 40 ml olive oil
  • 2 units large onions (chopped)
  • 2 units cloves garlic
  • 410 g canned tomatoes
  • 1000 g baby potatoes
  • 250 ml boiled water
  • 500 g frozen peas
  • 410 g tinned butter beans

To serve

Serve with samp, rice or pap.

Cooking Instructions

Cover the meat with salt, pepper, herbs and Nando's Bushveld Braai sauce.

Heat the oil in a big potjie and brown the meat. Add the onions and garlic and sauté for 5 minutes.

Add the tomatoes, potatoes, more herbs and water. Close the pot and allow to simmer for 2 hours or until the meat is soft and the potatoes are done.

Stir in the peas and beans and heat through.
