Cecilia's "Vuli Gate" Beer Lamb Stew

Hit song ‘John Vuli Gate’ went viral after a group of women added flavour with their own moves and vodka in hand. If cooking with a splash of booze is your gig try this alcohol-infused recipe.

Ingredients

  • 10 ml Wild Herb PERi-PERi Sauce
  • 20 ml Olive oil
  • 2000 g Lamb stewing meat
  • 2 units Chopped onions
  • 10 ml Garlic
  • 40 ml Beef stock
  • 340 ml Beer
  • 50 g Tomato paste
  • 750 ml Water
  • 12 units Baby carrots
  • 12 units Baby potatoes
  • 1250 g Mushrooms
  • 85 g Brown onion soup
  • 10 ml Flour

To Serve

  • Serve with brown rice.

    Heat the oil in a pot and brown the lamb for about 15 minutes. Add the onion and garlic and fry for another 2 minutes.

    Add the beef stock, beer, tomato paste, water and PERi-PERi sauce. Cook on low heat for about 1 hour.

    Add the carrots and potatoes and cook for another 20 minutes. Add the mushrooms and cook for another 5 minutes.

    Create a paste from the soup and flour (mix with a bit of water) and add to the stew. Cook for another 5 minutes and serve!
