Goodbye Malaria: Save a life in your sleep

25 April 2017 marks World Malaria Day. Nando’s South Africa is joining forces with Goodbye Malaria to say  “Tchau Tchau” Malaria and get rid of the Malaria epidemic in Mozambique.

At Nando’s, we are all about chicken and much more. We’re about changing lives, and that’s why we have partnered with Goodbye Malaria to change lives in a country very close to our hearts - our beloved Mozambique. This is where our PERi-PERi was cooked for the first time and to this day; much of our chilli comes from PERi-Farms in that region.

Malaria is an epidemic in most communities across Mozambique. Malaria is preventable but 92% of deaths still occur in Sub-Saharan Africa.  Goodbye Malaria and Nando’s have been helping to fight this disease over the past decade.

Our vision is to eradicate Malaria in Moz by 2030. Goodbye Malaria work towards eliminating Malaria through innovative spray technology that repels mosquitoes in places where our communities can be found. We have made huge progress but the battle is still on, with the recent rains causing a spike in Malaria cases, including in South Africa.

Together we can say “Goodbye to Malaria”.

How can you get involved?

Start by spreading the word. It’s important to understand and share information about Malaria – how it spreads and how you can protect yourself when you travel.

You can also make a difference by buying Goodbye Malaria merchandise (including our unique PJ pants) so you can literally help kill Malaria while you sleep. All proceeds go towards our fight against this deadly disease,
